Immigration

English 101

All immigrants should be treated equally, dont punish all because of ones mistake. Who are immigrants, immigrants are people living in a country other than that of his or her birth. No matter if that person has taken the citizenship of the destination country, served in its military, married a native, or has another statushe or she will forever be an international migrant (Google.com). Here are my three points about why immigrants should all be treated the same and all should not to be punished for ones mistake. Although the immigrants gets a certain amount of time to get their papers together, in that certain amount of time some immigrants are picked up. It’s just not enough time for immigrants to get their papers together. Im not saying the USCIS are completely unfair because some immigrants do waste time and then when immigrants see that they are running out of time some chose to file or put in their papers at the last minute. Most immigrants think that the USICS does that to give immigrants a warning time, but a lot of other individuals are unfairly getting picked up and deport for no reason. What they should do first is run a full background check before picking individuals in public, don’t denied someone citizenship because of one misdemeanor, and review the record for accuracy before denying someone for something they didn’t do or wasn’t their fault.

Running a full background checked before picking individuals up in public. Immigration runs a background on immigrants and there are three things that they look for. According to Michael Kiazema who wrote an article on background checks that immigrants face before getting their green card and becoming a citizen. He said that one other key hurdle in the path of citizenship is the passing or a background check. Immigrants with convictions for either a single felony, three or more misdemeanors, or a third category referred to as an aggravated felony in the bill, will be barred from attaining the registered provisional immigrant status (Micheal Kiazema wrote in his article). That if you have any of these you will not be able to obtain a green card or become a citizen. The USICS watches everything immigrants do. The USICS knows where to send officers to stop and put you in cuffs and have you put in an immigration holding cell until the judge is ready for you. I know this because I interviewed my grandma who has experience this before. As she began to tell me what it was like and where she was when it took place, she was on the highway going to New York to get some personal stuff and she saw a car behind her, she notices that this car been following her before she even entered the highway. She thought it was just a regular car diving behind her going the same way, but she just knew something wasnt right. Few minutes after she got on the highway, they pulled her over and cuffed her. She had to give them my moms number for her to come pick up her car. When she arrived at the place, they put her in a cell and put her in an orange suit and left her there. Little do they know her son is in the army, and he had heard what happened to her, she was there for a month she called us she cried. It was so heart breaking knowing that theres a chance I would never see my grandmother ever again. When her son got the call, he called them saying why was my mom picked up by ices. They run a background check on her and him and they saw that they are both clean and hes also serving the country. She went to court they apologize and then within a few weeks she got her green card. Now shes waiting to do her test for her citizen ship. A lot of immigrants go to places like this and get denied or deported because when they do a background check the find felonies and misdemeanors, only and they denied them and then they must try again.
Don’t denied someone citizenship because of one misdemeanor. According to Tiffiney Johnson from Crimes and US Immigration in her article I read that even a minor misdemeanor can cause someone to be inadmissibly to get their green card from (Will a Misdemeanor Conviction Prevent You from Receiving a U.S. Visa or Green Card?) Even a drug crime, as in you being in a car with someone who has drugs in their car, and you get caught being in that car. They run everybody license or ID and you will most definitely be sorry because theyre going to be paying a lot of attention to you especially if they see that your only here on a visa trying to get your papers. Youre going to be sorry that you were ever in that car. Something like that can cause you to be inadmissibly to become a citizen. USICS should also review record for accuracy before denying someone for something they didn’t do or wasn’t their fault.
Reviewing the record for accuracy before denying someone for something they didn’t do or wasn’t their fault. Is that USICS run all these background check and review it for so many times once they see thats its on your record thats it, youll get denied for it. They investigate it fully to see that you had nothing to do with it. Yes, you were there but maybe a friend, or somebody lie on you testify against you or something. Sometimes immigrants feel like its unbelievable unfair because nobody wants to hear their side or the saying is immigrants come here to kill or rape . In the article about Citizen Path there are five common reasons why most immigrants get denied, one Failing the English and/or Civics Tests, Criminal History (Big One), failure to meet continuous Residence and Physical Presence Requirements, Fail to Meet Financial Obligations and Fraud and Lying to USCIS (U.S Citizenship and Immigration Services). Its hard to remember a lot of Things for the English and Civics test, its not hard to maintain a clean record, its not hard to stay in the country for the required time, but its kind of hard to meet financial obligations and most definitely shouldnt commit fraud or lie to USCIS. But its completely understandable but they should always review for accuracy.
Inconclusion immigrants should be treated the same as Americans, we are all one. Although USICS gives immigrants certain amount of time to get their papers together, in that certain amount of time some immigrants are picked up. It’s just not enough time for immigrants to get their papers together. Yes, they shouldnt pick up individuals up in public, yes, they shouldnt don’t denied someone citizenship because of one misdemeanor, and yes, they should review the record for accuracy before denying someone for something they didn’t do or wasn’t their fault. But after doing my research its completely understandable that immigrants should follow immigration rules and requirements in order for immigrants to see understand why these things happen to them.
