The Essay must be double spaced, Times New Roman, MLA format, and 12p font.
The essay will be tied to the article “In Defense of Masks” by Kenneth Gergen which I will upload. In the essay, you
must provide a directed summary of the article and other examples to back up the thesis you have drawn. You can
use personal examples or ones from an outside source.
Thesis:
What is Gergens thesis regarding the idea of a coherent sense of identity versus the idea of multiple identities
represented by masks? Do you agree with his position? Be sure to support your position with concrete examples;
these examples may come from your personal experience and observations, or from things you have read, including
the reading material from this course.
The thesis statement must be located in the first paragraph (intro) towards the end after the directed summary.
There should be about 3 or more body paragraphs depending on the number of personal or outside examples you use
There should be an intro paragraph, 3 or more body paragraphs, a conclusion paragraph, and a works cited page.
