Assessment Description
The purpose of this assessment is for INT2001 students to reflect upon their learning in terms of relevant themes and concepts relating to the industry they may wish to enter as well as job search skills developed during the semester. Students are also to consider how they have developed business communication methods that might lead to future effective job search management skills.
This assessment is meant to be completed incrementally over a 6 week period while students fine tune their understanding of theories relating to management, industry and job search skills. Self-reflection journals to begin around week 8 on a weekly basis for 6 weeks, the assessment culminates in a 500 word summary of self-reflection at the end of the 6 week period. Please address the below 6 questions on a weekly basis and write the 500 word summary thereafter
Questions to reflect upon:
1. What job application skills/tools, theories and concepts can I draw upon to enable me to effectively research the industry, potential employer companies and pinpoint positions I would like to apply for?
2. What theories/concepts can I relate to in terms of building a personal brand and creating more active networks that may lead me to successful job searches?
3. When I reflect on my cover letter and resume writing for assessment 2, what did I do well and what aspects required improvements? How can I improve on these skills to ensure my job search process is successful in real life?
4. When I reflect on my mock interview in assessment 3, what did I do well and what aspects required improvements? How can I improve on these skills to ensure my job search process is successful in real life?
5. How can I further narrow down the industries and types of positions I might apply for? What skills/concepts did I learn from this course that enabled me to do so?
6. What communications and self-management tools can I use to further improve myself leading me to successfully securing a suitable position?
