HEA 151 Due on Day Three
You will choose a subject of nutritional interest and utilizing the Internet, you will research and write a paper.
The power of the Internet to provide the most current information allows it to be an unmatched source of up-to-date research. It is important for you to be able to differentiate between credible and unreliable sources of information on the Internet.
This assignment is worth 25 points and is due at the start of class on day three, according to the date in the syllabus.
The guidelines:
The student will research the subject and write a one and a half (minimum) to two-page essay style research paper. The content of the paper should be arranged into three components, introduction to the topic with a statement of interest. A body containing a synthesis of the research articles/information on the topic. Conclusion, stating the value of the topic or how the information can be utilized.
Typed, Arial, font size 12, .8 inch top and side margins (narrow margins,) one and a half spaced, stapled in the upper left hand corner, no plastic covers or folders. Cover page with course number, student’s name, date, and title of paper.
Attention to grammar, spelling, and punctuation, writing in complete sentences, organization.
The information contained in the report will not be plagiarized. Plagiarism-presenting someone else’s words, ideas, or data as your own work. Copying the information, cutting and pasting from the source, not putting the information into your own words.
If using a quote of an important piece of research, have it be no longer than a sentence, due to the short length of the paper. Site it using the number of the reference in quotes.
A reference page. A minimum of 3 references. The references will each be from a different site. List the web site name, site address, title of article and author (if one is mentioned.) If you need help doing an internet reference, refer to the list of helpful sites provided in the beginning of the powerpoint.
This assignment is due at the beginning of class on day three.
