ONE OF THE PROPOSED MECHANISMS TO DEAL WITH RESISTANCE IS TO INCREASE THE MEMBRANE PERMEABILITY OF THE CELL(S) AFFECTED. WILL THIS MECHANISM WORK? WHY OR WHY NOT? ARE THERE CURRENTLY ANY MEDICINES BEING USED, OR IN DEVELOPMENT, THAT ADDRESS THIS ISSUE? IF SO, HOW DO THEY WORK? PROVIDE CITATIONS FOR YOUR WORK.
One of the biggest issues in medicine is our growing inability to treat diseases, such as cancer and infections, due to resistances being accumulated to the current therapeutics available.
