Argumentation/persuasion essay #4, the essay is about raising mininum wage, my three
sub-topics are expenses outside living, cost of living and differences bewteen wages in jobs. the counter argument is why it may cause inflation or may be a bad idea to raise it.

- work cited page (at least page number six)
- five to seven in text citations
- your thesis needs to have the word(s): should, must, needs – or should not, must not
- MLA <— if your MLA is incorrect, your essay will go down a full grade - IF I FIND MORE THAN FOUR MLA ERRORS
- This is in all three points of view (1st – I want this to change) (2nd – you need to make this change) (3rd – all of the background and research information)
- It is also past tense and present tense (past tense – a little history and background information) (present tense – you need to make this change now!)
- Your topic is up to you - YOU feel strongly about something that you want to change, you research your ideas to back up your proposal – from credible sources, and you prove to me why this change should be made. You are arguing your point, and proving your point (using sources).
MAKE SURE THAT YOUR MLA WORK CITED PAGE IS CORRECT. You need to have the source at the end of each sentence that you use someone else’s words. Even if you state their name in the beginning of the sentence:
According to CNN.COM, "Researchers asked nine previously sedentary young men to do one total minute of high-intensity cycling on a stationary bike three times a week for 12 weeks" (Stores).
