1.Define the terms “Preverbal thought” and “pre-intellectual speech”.
2.Describe the difference between Public and Private Speech .
3. According to Vygotsky after something exists as inner speech it becomes “automatized” or “Folded”. Explain in detail what Vygotsky means by this.
4. According to Vygotsky Writing is a Higher Mental Function. Describe in detail how writing expands a child’s mental capacities.
5. The development of meaning in language is socially mediated. In the Pantaleo (2007) article the teacher guides the children through interactive Read Alouds in order to expand the students’ knowledge, ideas and reading skills. Please take an example of one of the Read Alouds described in the Pantaleo article and briefly describe how the teacher applied Vygotsky’s principles to help the children make meaning and construct knowledge.
