Submit a written summary and evaluation of a scholarly research article from a peer-reviewed journal, describing factors that facilitate the learning of English as a second Language.

The article must describe how a theory is proven to be significant to the field of TESOL and how it informs our practice.

The article must be closely related to EDUC 505 course topics, regarding ELL policy, bilingual education, or ESL teaching methods.

It must be from a peer-reviewed journal with a methodology and data analysis sections (Articles on general topics like multicultural education, transformational curriculum etc are not accepted because they are the topic of another course). Also articles that are a "review of the research" are not permitted- however- they can be a good place to start your research if you are stuck on finding a research paper.

The article must have a publication date of 2010 or later. It must be a scholarly article from a peer-reviewed journal (e.g. A 15-page article from a TESOL Journal, or Applied Linguistics Journal, not an article from New York Times or a periodical publication).

Summarize and evaluate the article in a 2-page paper (12 point font, double spaced).

Attach a copy of the article with the written summary when you submit on Blackboard.
