ARTSSCI 3B03 Fall 2021 Final Paper

Purpose: To apply what you are learning in this course by developing, investigating, and responding to a researchable question about the interrelations between technology and society.

Topic: You may choose any topic that is of interest to you and is associated with the interrelations between technology and society. Next, you will need to come up with a strong research question that you will be able to answer using established research. Once you have a good question, you will need to identify and obtain information (largely from peer-reviewed academic sources) relevant to answering the question, evaluate the appropriateness of the evidence, and draw reasoned conclusions. Taken together, your work should communicate a coherent and persuasive response to your question. Your capstone paper cannot take up the same topic as one of your assignments, unless it is sufficiently distinctive in approach/focus.

Format: The assignment should be between 3000-4000 double-spaced, typed words (Times New Roman, 12 Font). Please carefully adhere to the maximum word count. You may use any styleguide you would like as long as it is consistent throughout. Ensure that your writing is clear so as not to compromise the value of what you are trying to say. Further, be sure and cite all sources that are not your own, both in text and on the reference page. You should be incorporating course material into the assignment.

Evaluation: You will be evaluated on the strength of the question you pose and the relevance of the research you obtain to answer the question. The overall clarity and flow of the writing. The quality of writing. The strength and accuracy of the ideas, concepts, and theories you apply to answering your question and explaining your persuasive response.
