Book Name Technicians of the Sacred: A Range of Poetries from Africa, America, Asia, Europe, and Oceania, edited by Jerome Rothenberg, Third Edition. (Make sure it’s the 3rd edition published in 2017.)

Please read 10 different selections from the "Origins & Namings" part of the anthology. You choose what to read (but don’t be lazy and pick only the shortest texts in the anthology!) For the texts, you choose to read, be sure to always read their associated commentaries in the back. Respond with your honest thoughts about what you’re reading. I’m not looking for summaries, analyses, or expecting you to "sound smart" with your interpretations. This is an informal response–think of it as a letter to me and anyone else in our class, and not an "English paper."  The point is to pay attention to your own thinking as you read this material and to pay close attention to what’s written in the commentaries.

I’m not looking for "perfect writing." It’s normal to have errors pop up in one’s prose. But you absolutely need to give yourself some time to not only proofread what you’ve written before you post it, but also do some expanding and revising as well. If there are lots of obvious errors and spelling mistakes, I’ll know that you’re rushing, and not taking the time to look over your writing carefully before posting it.
