OR

The number of people in the room would be 6 as first there were five. Then the man walked in, making six.

OR

From 6 people, the man came and kill 4 people in the room , so left is the man and 1 more person (if the deceased don’t count).
So, after killing 4 people the remaining people in the room will be:
6 – 4 = 2 people
