Good afternoon, I’m writing to you because my professor Philip McDonald SOC – 436 refuses to let me turn in my assignments. I have SDS accommodation, which permits me to request a two-week extension. I feel there was a misunderstanding about due dates between us. My accommodations would be uploaded to our prior student portal, which means my due dates would be already factored in. For example, when dealing with Halo, the student portal will inform me my due date is January 9th, but I have to factor in my own two weeks. So when my professor informed me he couldn’t accept them since they were past the extended due date. I tried to explain to him that the assignment due dates on my end were December 19, therefore if I add two weeks, it will be due on January 2, 2022. My professor notified me that my assignments were due in November and that he had contacted me regarding them. When he contacted me, he told me that I had assignments due on November 21st, which I sent in on that Pacific day. He then notified me on 12/14/2021 about three papers that were coming due and to turn them in but I was under the impression that all of those assignments were due on 12/19. I have a Postmastoidectomy complication, during the time I was experiencing symptoms, ringing of the ear, dizziness, and confusion. This played a huge part in miscommunication between the Professor and myself. I didnt know what was going on with me at the time.
