He thinks about where the raven has come from and asks it some questions, but all it responds is “nevermore.” Events build to a frenzy at the end of the poem. Why? What is the bird telling our narrator? What does the raven represent? This poem was enormously popular. Why do you think that might be? How does Poe weave a spell with this poem? What rhyme, rhythm, and imagery techniques does he use in the process?
