In week 6 we read about the difference between misery and oppression. Why do we need to consider feelings when thinking about the process of moving towards gender equality? How can emotions and feelings help propel social movements? How can they retrench inequality? Name specific feelings and give personal or social examples of how they mediate gender relations.

At the end of the course students are required to submit a 1 page (double-spaced) written reflection responding to the above question. At least two (2) required materials and one (1) supplementary materials from the second half of the course should be appropriately cited (see Blackboard Weblinks & Resources for citation guidelines) in order to answer these questions. A minimum of two to three paragraphs per discussion question is expected.  This reflection is similar to the mid-term reflection but is worth 10 points more than the mid-term assignment. It is expected that students delve deeper into the issues and write a more thorough analysis, applying the materials to their personal experiences and/or current events.  The extra points also reflect the more difficult material presented in the later modules, rewarding students for engaging with this material.
