Here are notes on what we are looking for in your essays!
Sentence types: Simple sentence must be 60% >
5 – 5 – 10 – 15 rule is:
– NO MORE THAN 5 paragraphs
– A minimum of 5 sentences per paragraph
– NO MORE than 10 lines per paragraph
– An AVERAGE of 15 words per sentence
Quotes do not count towards your 10 lines per paragraph but do count towards your word count
Transition between paragraphs. Your last sentence in a paragsaph should introduce your next paragraph
Use 80/20 split must be 80% your original thoughts/words and 20% references.
MUST HAVE 2 reference … do not put your references on the same page as your essay.
DO NOT CHANGE MARGINS ON MICROSOFT WORD !!!
Arial font – Size 12
A in Army, S in Soldiers, C in Civilins are capitalized. DA PAM 623-3 / AR 25-50 has all the other options
