Ann Achievement is a successful surgeon.  She has never married or had children because she feels it would interfere with her ability to be a fine professional.  She particularly values her ability to use all the most recent surgical techniques and she also values her close personal relationships with her patients.

Charlotte Children is so devoted to her two daughters that she herself has only one dress so that she can afford to dress her daughters beautifully for school.

Wendy Wife believes her primary duty is to her husband. She does not take a job outside the home because she believes it would take time away from him.  Every night she has the children fed and occupied playing before her husband gets home from work, so that they can enjoy a candlelight dinner together, for which she is always well dressed and groomed.

Susan Service is fortunate to have a husband who earns a very good income, so that she does not hold a paying job herself.  Instead, she donates her time to various charity and service organizations.  She volunteers about forty hours a week at hospitals, a local food pantry, the town library, and a suicide prevention agency.

Laura Liberation devotes almost all of her time to the Women’s Movement.  She actively lobbies before state legislatures for laws supporting women’s rights. She also works for liberation through personal relationships, and any time she hears a man say something that puts women down, she explains to how offensive it is.

Linda Love is a college senior, engaged to marry Jim, who attends a college 100 miles away.  Linda meets Mike at her own college; they become very close and fall in love.  Three months before her scheduled marriage to Jim, she breaks the engagement and marries Mike because she realizes she loves him much more deeply than she does Jim.  She has no immediate plans for a career because she feels it is more important to devote the next year to working on her relationship with Mike.
